Is network marketing Halal ?

If you  are asking about hierarchical network marketing then yes, it is forbidden. And Allah عز وجل knows best. 

Lying to small children in order to pacify them

وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته 

It is not permissible at all . In this way , you are raising him to lie like you , so the child becomes stubborn and a liar as well ! The correct way is that you tell him the facts . Also this is  the correct way to cure his stubbornness . May Allah عز وجل grant you success . واالله أعلم
