During hers days of Jahiliyyah a sister was involved in Riba related to student loans and cars. At that time she had no knowledge of Riba and that it was a major sin. However later she has repented and now she practices Islam to the best of her ability. The question is are these debts she took for herself during the days of ignorance still count as debts and is she obligated to pay them back ?
