وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته The parents should strive to be upright , pious and righteous themselves in the first place as how Allah عز وجل said : { وَٱلَّذِینَ جَـٰهَدُوا۟ فِینَا لَنَهۡدِیَنَّهُمۡ سُبُلَنَاۚ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَمَعَ ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِینَ } " As for those who strive hard in Us (Our Cause), We will surely guide them to Our Paths (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism). And verily, Allah is with the Muhsinun (good doers). Then do a lot of Dua and do a lot of listening to the Qur’an at home , especially Surat Al-Baqarah , and recite it as well. Maintain and stick to the remembrances of the morning and evening ( أذكار الصباح والمساء ) and have a good hope on Allah عز وجل as how Allah عز وجل said { وَلَا تَا۟یۡـَٔسُوا۟ مِن رَّوۡحِ ٱللَّهِۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَا یَا۟یۡـَٔسُ مِن رَّوۡحِ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلۡقَوۡمُ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ } " and never give up hope of Allah's Mercy. Certainly no one despairs of Allah's Mercy, except the people who disbelieve." And Allah عز وجل knows best .
